Semi Automatic Hood Type Inspection System — Bottle Fill Level & Clarity Inspector

Jagat Industries manufactures the Semi Automatic Hood Type Inspection System — an operator-assisted bottle inspection machine designed for checking fill levels, liquid clarity, and the presence of particles or foreign matter in filled bottles. The hood-type format uses a backlit inspection background with a dark hood enclosure to enable the operator to clearly identify underfilled, overfilled, or contaminated bottles before they proceed to labelling and packing.

For packaging line standards, refer to PMMI’s packaging machinery resources.

How It Works

Filled bottles are manually placed by the operator into the inspection station. The hood-type enclosure blocks ambient light, while an illuminated backlight provides a bright, contrasting background that makes fill levels, liquid colour, and any particulate matter clearly visible to the inspector. The operator visually inspects each bottle against the backlit field, removes any rejected bottles, and passes accepted ones to the next station. The dark hood format significantly improves detection sensitivity compared to open-environment visual inspection.

Key Features
  • Dark Hood Enclosure — Blocks ambient light for clear, high-contrast visual inspection
  • Backlit Inspection Background — Bright backlight makes fill levels and particles clearly visible
  • Fill Level Checking — Detects underfilled and overfilled bottles before labelling
  • Particle & Clarity Detection — Identifies foreign matter or turbidity in liquid products
  • Manual Inspection Flexibility — Operator inspection allows nuanced judgment on borderline samples
  • Simple Setup — No complex calibration; ready to use with minimal installation
Applications
  • Pharmaceuticals — Fill level and clarity inspection of liquid medicine bottles
  • Liquor & Distilleries — Bottle inspection for fill level and liquid clarity before labelling
  • Beverages — Pre-label inspection of juice and water bottles for fill accuracy

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a hood type inspection system?

A hood type inspection system uses a dark enclosure and backlit background to give the inspector a high-contrast view of filled bottles, making fill levels, particulate matter, and colour abnormalities clearly visible.

What defects can this system detect?

Underfill, overfill, foreign particle contamination, and liquid turbidity or colour abnormality.

Is the system fully automatic?

No — this is a semi-automatic system requiring a human operator for visual inspection and rejection decisions. For automated inspection, contact us for appropriate solutions.

Is this system GMP-compliant for pharma use?

Yes — visual bottle inspection is a GMP requirement for pharmaceutical liquid bottle lines.

What bottle types can be inspected?

Glass and transparent PET bottles across standard sizes.
